Overload of creativity

Just had a sort through all the online bookmarks I've made over the past month. I feel a bit visually exhausted now but I thought I'd share these two artists with anyone who's interested.

This is an installation piece by Hilda Hellstrom which was commissioned by Swarovski.

These paintings are by Michael Carson. I think the way he's incorporated a simple blue square into the background of these two pieces makes his work look really fresh and current.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age

I watched Elizabeth the other day. Wouldn't it be so fun to be the costume designer for this film!

I love the clothes in most period dramas anyway but these dresses are incredible! So much work must have gone into making every one of them.

When two cultures collide

An editorial by Alexi Lubomirski for Vogue Germany featuring Toni Garrn. Mixing two completely different cultures has worked really well here.

Mixing patterns

RIKKA SORMUNEN

NICHOLAS STEVENSON

KAREN MABON
Three artists who have a great eye for colours and pattern. I might draw inspiration from them in my next project where I hope to make a wall hanging which celebrates different cultures all over the globe!
